The Godin Etude Left is the most popular model in the La Patrie lineup. The Etude’s specifications match those of the Motif but with a full size body. Incredibly responsive thanks to the feather-light Custom Polished finish, this guitar features great dynamic range along with the harmonically rich sound that you usually find in a guitar several times the price.

I rented this model from Long & McQuaid. I liked it. When it came time to buy I went up a step and bought the ‘Concert’ model.

Very nice mid-level classical nylon string model overall. Had to dock a star for 3 reasons: 1) Not overly fond of the current headstock design because it negates the Godin label placement regarding the LH variant when flipped. Better off flipping it back since it doesn’t affect the tuning peg positions whatsoever. 2) Getting rather weary of Godin staining their wild cherry back/sides to the point where it no longer looks like wild cherry at all (ugh). They really need to get back to just staining it naturally because it’s quite an aesthetically pleasing wood to look at in its own right. 3) ZERO excuses for listing LH models like this one significantly higher than their RH counterparts (aka the infamous “Lefty Tax”). Makes a growing number of lefties like myself resort to buying second-hand options instead and that’s just not good for business in general. Godin should know better than that, anyway (at least I HOPE SO:::sigh:::). That’s all I have to say about the LH Godin Etude variant.
